A great way to get outdoors and learn something new is to have a scavenger hunt! Get on your hiking boots and head outside with your child. You can take this opportunity to teach your child about different parts of nature.

One way to do this is by finding matching colors in nature. This allows your child to work on developing recognition skills, memory, attention to detail and thinking skills. 

Another option is to print a free scavenger hunt that is more advanced. Your child will be able to work on recognition skills, identifying different objects, thinking skills and much more!

In this example, your child will be able to use their deductive reasoning skills to determine where they might find these objects.

Spring is around the corner, and we are all looking forward to getting outside and enjoying the warm weather. But something else comes out when the weather warms up, ticks.

Ticks live in moist shady areas at ground level. They will cling to tall grass, brush and shrubs. They also live in lawns and gardens, especially near wooded areas.  All the places where children like to play. While they don’t fly or jump, they can attach themselves to you as you move past them.
