LWSC Overview

The LWSC provides additional academic support services including subject-specific tutoring, writing assistance, and communications-related support. The Learning Center also provides opportunities for academic skills development, through one-on-one academic skills coaching, group workshops, and online resources. Nominate a Student for Peer Tutoring

We want to inform you that as faculty and staff members, you can nominate outstanding students to serve as peer tutors. To do so, kindly visit our Faculty Information web page where you can access the nomination form. Thank you for your continued support.

Fall 2024 Recruitment

Students interested in becoming a Writing Center tutor should enroll in RHET 327/RHET527 - Writing Center Tutoring, a 2-unit course held in person on Tuesdays from 4:35–6:20 p.m. Upon successful completion of the course (grade B or higher), students will be eligible to apply for a peer tutoring position in the Writing Center.

Gleeson Library, 2nd Floor Conversation Study Area

Mark your calendars! The LWSC, in partnership with Gleeson Library, is excited to host a final exam preparation event. This event will provide students with valuable academic assistance to help them prepare for their final exams. The session will include subject tutors, Writing Center consultants, Speaking Center coaches, and reference librarians, all on hand to offer academic support. The event will also provide coffee and cookies for attendees to enjoy. Remember, with hard work and dedication, you can achieve your academic goals!
