Named NAITA International Trade Advocate
HUNTSVILLE, AL, January 21, 2016 – The North Alabama International Trade Association (NAITA), honors and recognizes an individual who has contributed significantly to the general advancement of international trade and the specific vision and mission of NAITA with the NAITA International Trade Advocate Award.
This year’s recipient of the NAITA International Trade Advocate Award has been a champion for trade in North Alabama and across the state for over 17 years. Robert Stackpole, director of the U.S. Department of Commerce-Alabama Export Assistance Center, has been instrumental in encouraging and assisting businesses in exploring new markets and expanding their exports worldwide and has worked closely with NAITA to develop programs and recruit speakers to address the trade needs of the North Alabama business community. Mr. Stackpole is a certified global business professional and has over 200 hours of training in international trade education. He joined the U.S. Department of Commerce in 2008 and has over 17 years of extensive experience and education related to international trade in both the public and private sector.
