Thank You for Supporting Oklahoma Film and Music Day Oklahoma Film and Music Day at the Capitol was a huge success! The event, which took place on March 25, included over 50 vendors, music production and performances and a number of special guest speakers and demonstrations throughout the day. Thank you to our legislative leaders as well as our participating exhibitors, musicians, volunteers, attendees and sponsors, including Cherokee Film, Oklahoma City Film & Creative Industries Office, Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture, Red Dirt Relief Fund, Jayaram Law and V Marketing. Join Us on the Kickstart 66 Tour Starting tomorrow, April 4, the Oklahoma Arts Council, Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission and Oklahoma Main Street Center will embark on a Kickstart 66 Tour, making a series of stops along Route 66 to introduce resources that communities can use for local planning and development.
OF+MO will host a table at the Miami kick-off event, held at the historic Coleman Theatre Beautiful 1-4 p.m., to share more about our resources, including state incentives and the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program.
Each tour stop will begin with welcoming remarks by Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell. All tour stops are open to the public and future dates include Clinton on May 9, Sapulpa on September 12 and Arcadia on October 3.

Join Us at Norman Music Festival OF+MO is proud to sponsor the 16th annual Norman Music Festival, taking place in downtown Norman, Okla., April 25-27. This FREE festival welcomes nearly 100,000 music enthusiasts to Norman annually to hear both local and national musical acts, including Grammy-nominated indie pop band Alvvays, Blondshell, Moor Mother, Husbands, Tropa Magica, Jared Deck, Radkey, Cliffdiver, Steph Simon, Branjae, Original Flow and the Wavvez and more. Join us at Gypsy Cafe in Stillwater OF+MO is proud to sponsor the 13th annual Gypsy Cafe in Stillwater, Okla., on May 5. Set across five stages in multiple venues throughout the city, this festival celebrates Oklahoma's rich tapestry of songwriting talent showcasing over 70 homegrown artists throughout the day, including Monica Taylor & Friends, Red Dirt Rangers, Jared Tyler, Chuck Dunlap, Brad James, and Gene Williams among others. Benefitting the Red Dirt Relief Fund, the event will kick off with Bob’s 'Mexican Morning' Brunch with additional activations throughout the day, including OF+MO’s Artist Lounge, which will provide educational resources to musicians from professionals across the legal, financial and marketing fields. Artists will have the opportunity to sign up for informational sessions with each expert to grow their music entrepreneurship. Additionally, OF+MO will host a table during artist registration with additional resources and support for attendees.

Francis Tuttle Presents Music Business for the Modern-Day Musician Being a musician in 2024 is not just about making music. Artists must also be business savvy in releasing their music and gaining momentum. Presented by Francis Tuttle Technology Center under the instruction of Oklahoma music professional Maggie McClure (The Imaginaries, Searchlight Music Group), the Music Business for the Modern-Day Musician class is April 20. Topics covered within the class include marketing for musicians, ways to take advantage of social media as a musician, video production as it relates to music, how to promote your music/yourself as an artist, communicating/pitching via email with music supervisors or licensing companies and more.

deadCenter University Accepting Applications for Youth and Educators deadCenter University has expanded their Youth Camp offered at OCCC’s Gray Frederickson Digital Cinema Department, where students will gain hands-on learning experience in creating a short film that will premiere during the deadCenter Film Festival. This camp will be June 3-6. deadCenter University is also offering their first-ever track for educators, where participants will receive the tools and resources to teach film in the classroom. The educators track will take place at Oklahoma City University led by Bryan Cardinale-Powell, Associate Professor and Chair of Film June 6-7.
While dCU is free of charge for both students and educators, there is limited space available with 20 slots for students and 25 spots for teachers. dCU participants will also receive two free passes to the deadCenter Film Festival.
