Quarterly Data Update (FY2026 Quarter 2)
During FY2026 Quarter 2, local CASA programs in Texas began serving 1,400 new children with 553 new dedicated volunteers, bringing the year-to-date totals for FY2026 to 14,292 total children served and 6,280 total volunteers, respectively. Since last quarter, the total number of children served has increased by 11%. Compared to FY25 Q2, the total number of children served has increased by 4%.
| |
Across the state, your increased recruitment efforts were paying off in FY26 Q2 with 597 volunteers beginning pre-service training, an 18% increase over FY25 Q2. Also in this quarter, nine CASA programs successfully served 100% of children with a CASA volunteer.
Texas CASA is proud to support the amazing work of the local CASA programs that bring these numbers to life every day. Behind every statistic is a child, a parent, a family, and a purpose-driven CASA program. Thank you for all you do for children, parents, and families across Texas.

CSE-IT Trainings to Learn the Signs of Commercial Sexual Exploitation
CSE-IT screenings are now implemented universally for youth in conservatorship. This milestone is significant, but our work is not done. Now is a critical time to deepen our understanding of what CSE-IT results mean and how to use them in our advocacy. One of the most important aspects of human trafficking prevention is recognizing signs of potential exploitation so we can intervene before harm begins. The CSE-IT shows us both confirmed signs of potential harm and where we need to learn more about the youth to determine risk.
| |
Properly understanding a CSE-IT empowers us to see where risk lies and advocate accordingly. By getting CSE-IT trained, you will make sure you have the necessary knowledge to address this unique vulnerability. These screenings aren’t just a formality; they offer key insights that should directly inform how we support and protect youth.

Legislative Priorities Survey + Upcoming Legislative Visit Role Play Office Hours
Texas CASA’s Public Policy Team invites all local CASA program staff, volunteers, and board members across Texas to take part in our Legislative Priorities Survey. As we begin preparing for the 90th Texas Legislative Session in January 2027, we’re gathering ideas, feedback, and proposals to help shape Texas CASA’s legislative priorities. Survey closes April 30.
The CASA Story, our unified storytelling campaign for all 74 local CASA programs, will set us up for a successful 2027 Legislative Session. These Legislative Visit Role Play Office Hours are an optional, supportive practice where you can role-play legislative visits with Texas CASA’s Public Policy team, refine your CASA Story, and build confidence before stepping into a legislator’s office.

These sessions offer practical insight and timely updates to support your work with children, families, and caregivers across Texas. All CASA staff are welcome to attend. If you are not registered for the STAR Monthly Zoom Series, please REGISTER HERE.
