We've made it to December and the last days of an exciting fall semester. The 2023 RedHawks football and field hockey teams are MAC champions! Right now, your students have their hands full and could use some extra words of encouragement as they complete exams, projects, and papers. Your support continues to be important to their success.
The end of the fall semester brings a long break from school for you and your student to reconnect. Help your students make meaning of this semester by reflecting on what went well, what didn't, how to grow, and where they want to go next. Winter Term provides students with opportunities to get ahead academically, to get some work experience, to pursue their passions, and to prepare for the spring semester.
As always, review past issues of this newsletter on our Stay in Touch page.
Love and Honor,
Joe Hawkins

Shuttles to the Cincinnati (CVG) Airport are available on Friday, December 15 at 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. with multiple returns to campus. Your student can ride on a professional luxury coach to/from the airport for only $40 each way! Shuttles will also be available for spring break. More details can be found on the Campus Services Center website.
Moving out
Residence halls close and card access ends on Friday, December 15 at 7 p.m. If your student needs to stay in their room after 7 p.m. on December 15, they must submit a housing request online. After submitting a request, they'll be notified by email when the request is approved, and card access will be extended based on the dates approved. Students will be billed their daily cohort rate for each night they remain in campus housing during break. The charge for Friday, December 15 is waived for students who submit their break housing request prior to Wednesday, December 13 at 11:59 p.m. The normal daily break housing rates will apply for students who sign-up for Friday after the Wednesday deadline. There are no housing charges for Heritage Commons residents during break. Students requesting a housing change for spring semester must be completely moved into their new room before they depart for winter break. Break housing rates can be found on our website.
Moving back in
Residence halls will reopen on Sunday, January 28 at 9 a.m. If your student has a need to arrive prior to opening, they can request to arrive on Saturday, January 27, through the housing portal. Students who are approved to arrive on Saturday will be charged their daily cohort rate. Students are NOT permitted to return to campus prior to Saturday without a specific documented need. Students who have travel reasons to arrive early before Spring Semester hall opening should make arrangements to stay off-campus with a friend or make hotel reservations. Students who access their room without approval will be billed the unapproved rate of $55/day.
