New Art Day Camp 

Where: UWO Fond du Lac Campus 
Who: Youth grades 3rd -10th
Cost: $12/day or $30 for all 3. Register through 4-HOnline under events starting June 29. Registration closes Friday, August 5. Must have a minimum of 5 participants. The camp is limited to 10 participants. We will start a waitlist, if we fill it up.  
Description:
Monday, August 8 Art-Rageous - Calling all youth artists! From clay to oil pastels and everything in between, youth will explore art by channeling their creativity while learning about different artists, techniques, and media.
Tuesday, August 9 Picturesque Painting - Youth will explore all things paint on this day.  Activities will include watercolor, paint pouring, and acrylic painting. Bring your paint clothes and creative minds, and we will supply the rest!
Wednesday, August 10 Phenomenal Photography- Learn about how to use your camera and what settings and features to use for certain settings and situations. Youth will also learn about selecting photos, mounting, and other tips and tricks. Youth will practice taking pictures this day. (Recommendation: youth bring their own cameras if possible).
If we have more volunteers to help with Day Camp, we can open it up to more youth! If you are interested in helping, please contact Tracy or call 920-929-3171.

2022 WI State Fair Youth Expo

 Entries are open for Youth Exhibits now until July 25! Youth from Wisconsin, ages 12-19 as of January 1st of the current Fair year, may enter projects for judging and exhibition.

Entry Deadline: Monday, July 25 – 5 pm Central Standard Time

***Projects must arrive by Tuesday, July 26, 2022 – at 4 pm (Central Time)***

*New for 2022* - County Fair Judge’s Favorite award: The Judge’s Favorite award is given to County Fair project exhibits of outstanding quality. These are selected at the county fair. Judge’s Favorite award-winners are eligible to advance to Wisconsin State Fair with no entry fees.

Projects no longer need to be exhibited or selected at a Wisconsin County Fair/District Fair. Review the entry information or submit your nominations here.

Area Animal

Science Day

Area Animal Science Days is a series of two day-long events held around the state in June where youth in the beef, dairy, horse, sheep, and swine projects increase their decision-making skills and knowledge of animals through judging and grading experiences.  In addition, each site may offer a variety of workshops for small animal projects, which may include rabbits, poultry, dogs, cats, or llamas. 
Congratulation to Team A! They took 1st place and will be advancing to the WI 4-H State Dairy Judging Contest on August 1st.

Dairy Showmanship Workshop

June 26, 2022 | 7 pm

Join us for an in-person Dairy Showmanship Clinic at Forest-Ridge Holsteins on Sunday, June 26!  Please dress appropriately for leading cattle.

2022 Fond du Lac Jr Holstein Fitting Contest

When: Wednesday, July 20, 2022 
Time: 1:00 pm  
Where: Dairy Barn by the FDL Jr Holstein Exhibit
Why: Fitting is an important skill to learn to maximize your animals in the show ring. Done correctly, it improves the animal’s style and overall appearance. This contest gives you the opportunity to work on your skills.
Who: Open to all dairy exhibitors in grades 3-13.  

PRE-REGISTRATION is required by July 6, 2022.

2022 Fond du Lac Jr Holstein

Dress a Critter Contest
The Fond du Lac County Jr Holstein Association is sponsoring a dress a critter contest at the fair.  
When: Friday, July 22, 2022
Time: 3:00 pm, judging by the Wisconsin Holstein Association Princess!
Where: Cow palace
Who: Any 4-H exhibitor with an animal at the fair; open to all species.

County Fair Volunteers Needed

The County Fair is in need of fair volunteers to help us set up the stage and/or take it down. Monday and Tuesday, July 18 and 19, and then Monday, July 25 after the fair. We normally do it during the day. The fair could include some wristbands or food tokens for any exhibitors that would be interested, and the fair would really appreciate it! Please contact Jen at the fair office if you would be willing to help at office@fonddulaccountyfair.com or by calling the office at (920) 929-3168.
The Fond du Lac Agri-Business Council is looking for 4-H members to help in the Education Center during the Fond du Lac Fair. The center is in the Recreation Building and is open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Members need to be at least 11 years old to volunteer. Volunteers will help with the Little Hands of the Farm activities. We will work around judging schedules and ask volunteers to commit to at least two hours when signing up. Please contact Amy Ries at aries@envisiongreaterfdl.com or 920-322-2292 if you are interested or have additional questions. The Fair runs from July 20-24.
