May Email Newsletter 2019
From the Camp Director,
The month of April has been another encouraging month for getting donations for the pool. We really appreciate the churches that have stepped out to help us make the pool functional for this summer. Out of 70 supporting churches we had 42 help with the pool project. We have also had several individuals help with this project. In a day and age when many people are self centered, it can be difficult to find faithful friends who will help with this ministry. But, time and time again our friends of Hanging Rock have shown their love for this ministry through prayer and support.
God demonstrates his steadfast love and faithfulness over and over again. Psalm 100:5 says "For Yahweh is good, and His love is endures through all generations." Because of this, every Generation ought to praise, worship, and give thanks to Him. Of course for this to happen, Christians in every generation must share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the next generation. This is what Camp Ministry is all about!! Through your gifts and donations you are helping make this happen! Thank You!
Don't forget that the second teir price ends on June 2, 2019, Get your kids registered for camp.

Pool Project:

As you can see in the pictures, the pool liner is being installed and we hope the concrete work will be done soon too. We want to thank everyone that helped with this project. We know the campers that go swimming this summer and those that give their lives to Christ and are baptized in the pool will be thankful for this.

Zimbabwe Outreach Ministries - 2019 Summer Missionaries.

We at Zimbabwe Outreach Ministries want to thank you, the community of Hanging Rock Christian Assembly, in advance for hosting us this summer. Helen and I look forward to a great summer with your youth and getting to know the supporting churches as well as those individuals we will meet along the way.

This summer camp season we look forward to sharing different aspects of the outreach of ZOM such as:

·        Sharing different aspects of the life of youth in Zimbabwe.

·        Sharing ministry philosophy that guides our work in Zimbabwe.

·        Sharing about each ministry used to take the gospel to the people of Zimbabwe.

·        Sharing stories of lives that have been changed because of the gospel.

·        Sharing challenges, we face as missionaries within the Shona culture.

·        Sharing life together with you at HRCA will be our biggest impact.

We have a project that is on-going from last summer at Hunnington Retreat Center in Zimbabwe. We are taking all the existing thatching off our Retreat Chalets and replacing it with metal roofing sheets which is due to the yearly “slash and burn” practices in the area surrounding the camp. You may remember that we lost 80% of our camp due to fire in 2008. We have had other fires that we have had to battle and thank the Lord that we have not had any of our campers injured due to fire. It is important that we take the initiative and do our part in keeping our children safe. Our summer mission projects are motivated by our concern for the safety of our campers. We have reconstructed all the buildings that burned with metal roofing sheets and now are focusing on the Retreat Chalets and Conference/ Worship Center.

This year the mission offering taken during the summer at HRCA will be going toward replacing the grass roofs on the remaining Retreat Chalets with sheet metal which at this time cost $6,700.

Plus, the mission offering will go towards replacing the grass roof on the Conference/Worship Center with metal roofing sheets. The cost is $2,100.

Plus, the mission offering will also go towards rebuilding our obstacle course. We battle termites in Zimbabwe, big time. Our first obstacle course was a wooden structure which is now gone. We are now building the obstacle course with steel and some wood where needed. The cost is $1,900.

Total:  $10,700.

If there is offering money that comes to us beyond the stated projects, it will go toward the following.

·        10 tables at a cost of 150 dollars each. Total $1,500

·        100 chairs at a cost of 25 dollars each. Total $2,500

Helen and I will also have African items for sale at HRCA this summer. The money raised will go to the Mission, helping to meet Mission travel expenses while reporting to supporting churches and others who come along side us in prayer and financial support.

We at HRC want to say thank you to the Board of Directors/Camp Committee at HRCA for choosing us as your summer mission. We also want to thank you, the churches, for making HRCA a mission minded camp.
