Hi Neighbor!
One of my longest-known girlfriends is getting married (yay!) and I recently attended her bridal shower. While beautiful and a great time, it was a pretty “standard” bridal shower with cutesy games, questionnaires and the obligatory bow hat. There was a standout idea though – in addition to the often-seen recipe collection (guests bring a favorite recipe along for the new bride), there was a “hack” collection box! Guests were invited to write a helpful “hack” on a cutely designed index card for the bride and groom to tuck away for their new life together. I loved this idea! Who doesn’t love a good hack?!
Whether it’s for the kitchen, for travel or for life in general, we all love to hear a good trick to make life a little bit easier. And so, I give you a list of some great hacks that I’ve used myself or recently discovered:

While I think this list has some great ideas, I know it barely scratches the surface of all the great ideas out there. Do you have any tried-and-true hacks? Do share – I’d love to hear! This momma will take all the help she can get!
Warm regards,
Kim

Wildfire Help for Your Lungs
With the wildfires still raging out of control in Canada, we will undoubtedly face more breathing challenges through this summer. Particulate matter is of great concern, and we can help ourselves by choosing to implement key nutritional ingredients proven to help lung function. As we remember from our Covid days, N-Acetyl Cysteine, or NAC, is a key antioxidant that has been shown to improve respiratory function along with detoxification of environmental toxins and pollutants. It also helps to boost our body’s production of glutathione, perhaps the most important antioxidant in our bodies.Other relevant ingredients from nature include the mushroom Cordyceps, and the anti- inflammatory herbs ginger and Boswellia.
Respiratory distress will always have a component of inflammation, and these helpful nutrients aid our bodies in decreasing this response. A newer ingredient to the nutritional supplement market, is an enzyme called Seaprose-S. This enzyme has been shown to decrease mucus production, improve immune function related to the lungs, and remove biofilms in the lungs which are akin to slime like we see our kids playing with these days. Finally, we must mention Magnesium for its one of 300 roles in the body but here we pay attention to its ability to dilate our airways allowing enhanced breathing and oxygen exchange. All in all, nature still has our back when it comes to just about anything.
