Dragon Moms are THE BEST!

Wishing ALL of our Mothers of Dragons in our St M community THE MOST fabulous Mother's Day!
Mr. Gregg and the administrative team will present the plan for the 2021-22 school year, as well as answer parent questions. Provided COVID numbers continue to decline, our intention is to start the school year in accordance with the 2021-22 Academic Calendar, with a goal of resuming normal operations for in-person teaching and learning with amended COVID protocols.
The meeting will cover the following topics: school hours, COVID mitigation, dress code, school nurse and counselor, events and traditions, hot lunch, orientation, Middle School advisories, electives and sports, Assembly Hall construction, Extended Programs, parent/teacher conferences, and more. For those unable to attend, a recording and a summary of the meeting will be sent out to all families the following week. We hope you will make every effort to virtually join us.
St. Michael's is looking forward to an exciting year ahead!

Grateful Hearts for our Teachers

This school year has undeniably been one of the hardest ones in St. Michael's history. In the midst of great pandemic uncertainty, fears, and challenges, our teachers put the academic and social-emotional needs of our students at the forefront and approached this year with perseverance, resilience, collaboration, creativity, and grace.
Reflecting on this year of teaching during COVID, one teacher recently shared: "This year was one full of uncertainty and pivots. We didn’t have much time to learn new technology and reinvent our lessons. We were nervous and unsure, but we also knew in order to reach our students, we would have to dive in! And that’s exactly what we did. We spent hours learning new programs, playing with new tools, and planning. The ability to learn so much so quickly and turn around to teach our students is nothing short of miraculous. We listened, we planned, we taught each other. We stood by each other arm in arm. Knowing and believing we would rise and get through this stronger, better, and kinder than before.  It’s that feeling of WE DID IT and we did it well!” (-Kelley Hettrick, Third Grade)
As Teacher Appreciation Week wraps up, we extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to our faculty for their amazing work this year -- a year in which almost every aspect of our faculty's professional lives changed due to this pandemic. The times we are experiencing will be the subject of history and economics and social lessons for generations to come. The work we are doing every day is groundbreaking, and it will continue to be. And when it comes to our faculty AND staff, we can think of no better example of what it truly means to live our DRAGONS' values.

We're Going Digital: Parent Portal for Back to School Forms: Due July 15

For the upcoming school year, St. Michael's will be shifting all student medical information to a secure online database. There are many benefits to this change including less paperwork for parents to complete each year and having more accurate information that is accessible to parents and the appropriate employees at our school. The management system we have adopted is called Magnus Health SMR (Student Medical Record). As this is a web-based system, you will have continuous access to your child’s health record as well as the ability to make updates when needed. You will also have the option to access the account after your child graduates.

As of May 1, you have access to your Magnus Health SMR account through the Powerschool Parent Account that you have created.  Click here for a short video on how to access your Magnus Account through PowerSchool. We ask that you enter the health information required within your Magnus Health SMR account for each child attending St M no later than July 15.
There may be some additional forms due in late August.
Please contact Dave Grossman, Director of Technology with any questions.

New Warm Weather Spiritwear

Happily, spring has sprung and warm weather is upon us. We have updated our Spiritwear Shop with new short-sleeved items, tie-dyed tees, wicking shirts, shorts, and even beach towels -- everything you need to show your Dragon pride!
