Good morning! Clemson has announced the President's and Dean's Lists for the Spring 2025 semester. Installation of parking space sensors resumes today; two faculty explain the significance of asteroids in honor of Asteroid Day.

What to know today:

The Spring 2025 President’s and Dean's Lists are available, highlighting a remarkable group of students who have shown extraordinary commitment to academic excellence.

Fike Recreation Center is closed this week due to repairs. Faculty and staff with Campus Recreation memberships can utilize Douthit Hills Fitness Center during regular hours of operation while Fike is closed. Fike is scheduled to reopen on Monday, July 7.

Installation of parking space sensors resumes today through the next several weeks. Please be aware of crews working in employee lots.

NEWS AND UPDATES

Rising seniors Regan O’Neill (left) and Makenzie Jones (right) were among 74 students from 51 schools across the country to receive Astronaut Scholarships, an honor reserved for some of the nation’s top juniors and seniors in STEM majors.

ASTEROID DAY

In honor of Asteroid Day today, physics and astronomy professor Marco Ajello and lecturer Frank Gyngard help explain how scientists research and monitor asteroids — and whether we need to worry.

Clemson University and the city of Clemson will partner to deliver the “Light the Lake” fireworks show over Lake Hartwell this Thursday, July 3. The show will begin between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m.
