More than 180 representatives of South Carolina universities gathered last week at the inaugural South Carolina Research Administration Conference, collaborating to boost research and innovation across the state. The event was hosted by the University of South Carolina in partnership with Clemson, Claflin and the College of Charleston through REACH-SC, an initiative funded by the National Science Foundation.

As a state agency, Clemson University must comply with new South Carolina state telecommuting and remote work requirements. All current remote work program participants must submit updated agreement forms by October 1.

Associate Professor Joshua Catalano (right) was looking to discover the outline of Fort Rutledge, a Revolutionary War fort on Clemson’s campus, when he located the organic matter that changed Clemson’s historical record and set out to explore the history in his own backyard.
- Two College of Education alumni, Taj Mack-Pete and Chloe Milkowski, recently began Fulbright journeys in Taiwan and Spain as part of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Their love of travel and previous study abroad experiences helped ignite their interest in the program.

Joey Manson, a Clemson alumnus and principal lecturer in the Department of Art, serves as faculty mentor for the long-running Creative Inquiry project, “Atelier InSite: Implementation of Public Art at Clemson University.” Launched in 2012, the project has made a visual impact across campus, with pieces such as “All In,” (left) located outside of the football program's Poe Indoor Practice Facility; “Illuminated Chroma Wind Trees” (middle), located outside of McAlister and DesChamps halls; and “Foundation,” (right) located in Lee Hall III.
