Meet the Head of School Candidates

After snow delays, the Search Committee is excited to welcome to campus two Head of School candidates, one finalist on December 17th and one on the 18th.  All are invited to meet the candidates during open drop-ins on these dates from 8:05 to 8:35 a.m. in the Hubbard Hall Library.  
Brief bios of each candidate will be sent the night before each of the meet and greet sessions. (This is a change requested by the search consultant.)
If you plan to attend the sessions, please drop-off any students in the regular car loop first, park in the East (Gym) Lot and enter directly into the Hubbard Hall Library.  If you cannot attend, please share any questions or thoughts with the Parent Advisory Committee as they will meet with each candidate.  The names of all Advisory Committee members may be found on the School's website. Thank you for your support.

Christmas Break/Early Dismissal on Wednesday, Dec.19

A friendly reminder that St. Michael's Christmas Break is from NOON on Wednesday, December 19-January 2. Classes resume on Thursday, January 3. 
We wish all of our families a joyous holiday!

8th Grade Winter Exams Begin This Week

Given the snow closures, the 8th grade English and Geography exams will take place in class after Christmas break (week of January 7-11). These assessments are writing-based rather than objective tests, and students will have time in class to prepare so that they do not need to study over the holiday.
The exam schedule for this week is as follows:
  • Monday, December 17: Geography, 8:07 a.m.
  • Tuesday, December 18: Math after Christmas Pageant
  • Wednesday, December 19: Science, 8:07 a.m. (NOON DISMISSAL)
Eighth grade students may also dress down this week for exams.

Key Dates for Next School Year

For planning purposes, below please find key dates for the 2019-2020 school year.
  • August 22: Lower School "Meet your Teacher" and Extended Day open house
  • August 26: Lower School first day of school with early dismissal
  • August 26: Middle School orientation
  • August 27:  First full day of school for all students
  • December 20: Christmas break begins with early dismissal
  • January 6: Classes resume
  • March 6: Spring break begins with early dismissal
  • March 16: Classes resume
  • June 3: Closing Exercises for Lower School and Middle School
  • June 4: Eighth Grade Commencement (9 a.m)
