Corona Glass Stellar Disks
Melted sunshine? Frozen fireworks? No, it's Corona Glass, the colorful swirly glass Josh first developed more than 40 years ago. Since then he has melted nearly 500 different formulas of the unique ingredients - in particular precious metallic oxides - that make up this unpredictable material. Will his experiments ever end? Probably not, because Josh loves glass chemistry!
The whirling patterns of Corona Glass show especially well on the large platters Josh calls "Stellar Disks" because they remind him of rings of interstellar fragments that swirl around young stars. Watch the dramatic moment when Josh spins open a large floppy gob of molten glass to form the disk.
