Medical Assistant

Dr. Stephanie Aleskow Stein, MD, is a General Endocrinologist seeking a Medical Assistant for her practice. This is an excellent gap-year position for anyone planning to apply to medical, PA, NP or PT school. She is looking for a full-time medical assistant who can commit to 1 year or more in the position. Prior experience with medical scribing and/or medical assisting strongly preferred but not required. The Ideal applicant will also have a typing speed of greater than 45 words per minute, strong listening and communication abilities and an interest in healthcare or health sciences.

Daily duties in the position will include answering phone calls, scheduling patients, performing and documenting vital signs, cueing up prescriptions for medications, assisting with patient messages, maintaining cleanliness of clinic rooms, assisting with patient care and more. Medical Assistants will have the opportunity to learn about general endocrinology in a practice that focuses on quality patient care.

Typical hours are approximately 8 am - 5pm Monday through Friday.

Ophthalmic Technicians Opportunity

The Office of Harry H Huang, MD, PA is seeking to hire Ophthalmic Technicians for our Ophthalmology practice in Bethesda, MD. This is a direct patient care position which will offer valuable experience in both the clinical and surgical sides of medicine. Technicians have the opportunity to work as part of our Tech team as well as directly with our physicians. 

After extensive training, the Technician will be responsible for: screening patients; documenting personal and family histories, medications, chief complaints, etc.; checking visual acuity; performing diagnostic testing using state-of-the-art technology such as visual fields, fundus photography, optical coherence topography and specular microscopy; patient education regarding cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration; taking measurements for cataract surgery; prepping patients for laser procedures; and managing the flow of the office as well as performing other tasks as needed. You will also have the opportunity to see the surgical side of the practice and, if possible, to observe cataract surgery alongside the physicians.
