Clinical Research Mentorship Program
The National Hispanic Health Foundation, with generous support from Johnson & Johnson, is proud to launch its new Clinical Research Mentorship Program in March 2026. This program is designed to connect experienced clinical investigators with emerging Hispanic health professionals. This program will build a pathway for Hispanic researchers equipped to advance inclusive, evidence-based for all communities.
Through structured mentorship and professional development, the program connects experienced clinical investigators with emerging Hispanic health professionals and students. Mentors and mentees will engage in discussions on research processes, ethics, career pathways, and professional growth, helping to build a strong pipeline of Hispanic researchers equipped advance inclusive, evidence-based healthcare for all communities.
The inaugural cohort runs from March through June 2026 and is open to students and mentors interested in exploring and advancing careers in clinical trial research and related health professions.
The deadline to apply as a Mentee is March 11, 2026.

LMSA PLUS National Personal Statement Review Program
We are excited to launch our national one-on-one mentorship initiative designed to strengthen personal statements and build meaningful mentor–mentee connections across our network.

Experiential Opportunities |
Project Smile Global | Mentorship Program
This program is designed to connect students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare with volunteer mentors who have firsthand experience navigating the pre-health pathway. Through these mentor-mentee relationships, participants gain valuable insight, guidance, and advice from mentors who have once been in their shoes.
We are currently seeking upperclassmen undergraduate and graduate students to serve as mentors for high school and undergraduate mentees who are exploring careers in dentistry and other healthcare fields. This is a virtual program that will be conducted over Zoom for 4 to 8 weeks.
As a mentor, you will meet with 1 to 2 mentees per week to facilitate discussions that focus on topics like navigating the pre-health track, choosing extracurricular activities, finding research opportunities, and preparing for future applications. To support mentors, the program provides optional resources, discussion prompts, and regular check-ins from our coordination team.
In addition, undergraduate students who are interested in being paired with a mentor are welcome to apply using the mentee interest form below.

JHU Schaufeld Program | Opportunity for Post-Baccalaureate & Pre-Health Students
Johns Hopkins Medicine has an open call for students interested in pursuing 2-3 years of full time, laboratory or public health-based research on prostate cancer. The Schaufeld Program for Prostate Cancer in Black Men’s Post-Baccalaureate Scholars Program.

The Annapolis Hand to Shoulder Center (AH2S), an orthopaedic hand surgery practice in Annapolis, MD, is seeking a full-time Clinical Medical Assistant ideal for premedical or pre-PA graduates (or graduating seniors) pursuing a gap-year clinical experience.
This position offers hands-on patient care, exposure to orthopaedic procedures, EMR documentation, and direct physician mentorship in a sub-specialty surgical practice. Training is provided. Monday–Friday, no evenings or weekends.

Spanish-Speaking Volunteer Opportunity – Bridge to Care Clinic
GW undergraduates and alumni with Spanish language skills are invited to volunteer as interpreters with Bridge to Care, a student-run free clinic operated by GW medical students on Thursday evenings. The clinic serves uninsured patients in the DC community, many of whom are primarily Spanish-speaking.
