Hello #IndyMini Participant, we hope you’re just as excited as we are to kick off the 2021 OneAmerica 500 Festival Virtual Mini-Marathon and Delta Dental 500 Festival Virtual 5K! Share your journey with us by tagging the 500 Festival on social media and using the hashtag #IndyMini 🏁

Cue the confetti because you can log your miles starting TOMORROW, Saturday, May 8, and you will have through May 23 to complete your race.

Reminisce over #IndyMini memories, hear inspirational stories about this year's participants, and celebrate the re-imagined Greatest Spectacle in Running with us! Tune in to WTHR at 8 pm ET on Saturday, May 8th to join us in the celebration!

The Inspirational Pacesetter Relay Story

While we can't all be together this year for the 45th running of the #IndyMini, a few honorary participants will take on the traditional route of the Indy Mini together on May 8th in the form of a relay. These inspirational runners represent a larger demographic of frontline and essential workers who have selflessly given of themselves day after day. Over the past year, their countless hours of work have immensely contributed to the overall safety and health of the state of Indiana.

These frontline heroes will be joined by friends and family of Pat Kennedy, a passionate race fan, a long-time supporter of the 500 Festival, and a regular Mini-Marathon participant, who unfortunately passed away in April 2020 after contracting COVID-19. Kennedy was a past 500 Festival Board Director, a board member of the 500 Festival Foundation, and was part of the 500 Mile Oldtimers Organization. Virtual Indy Mini participants can also find a tribute paying homage to Pat Kennedy on the 2021 #IndyMini shirt and medal.

Get Ready to Race!

Mile logging is open from May 8-23

Participants can log their miles on the NEW Indy Mini App. Claim your profile, explore the map, and share your tracking link with your friends and family. When you’re ready to race, just hit “Start Race” and the app will automatically start tracking your miles. Once you hit 13.1 or 3.1 miles, your time will upload to the overall leaderboard. Read the User Guide for more information!

Just like our in-person Health & Fitness Expo, our Virtual Expo includes live sessions from speakers, booths, and giveaway opportunities! You can even enter a booth and chat live with an exhibitor. Speaker sessions, enter-to-win opportunities, and live sessions are available NOW through May 9, but the Virtual Expo will be available all month long!

Participant Swag

Swag is shipping! Any registrations that were completed during April or May might not receive their items until June.

Once your items have shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking info.

If there are multiple Indy Mini or 5K participants in your household, each person will receive their own mailing. All participants will receive their event-specific participant shirt, finisher medal, and #IndyMini hat, but additional items may vary between mailings.
