| A Shining by Jon Fosse, trans. Damion Searls Transit Books • October 2023 • 9781945492778
“When I dream my own death, I will forever see Fosse’s dark woods and his shining, barefoot apparitions in snow-smothered quiet. I don’t know how to speak of this brief book without reverence or animal fear. A book to be read aloud, around a campfire, with loved ones, in its entirety.” — Spencer Ruchti, Third Place Books (Seattle, WA)

“[An] enigmatic and consuming spiral of a novella. Reminiscent of Borges yet rebellious in its refusal to take shape, We’re Safe When We’re Alone is a transportive and philosophical experience that’ll chill your bones.” — Thu Doan, East Bay Booksellers (Oakland, CA)
