Romans 10:13-15
for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?  And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
New International Version (NIV)
God's love is more expansive than ours.  In Paul's great letter to the Romans, he paints a picture of God's love including both Jews and Gentiles.  His text, Joel 2:32, is in the same passage which Peter quoted to explain Pentecost.  God's Kingdom has come to earth in Christ.  It continues in the power of the Holy Spirit.  It includes all people.

God saves all who call on him.  So what would cause people to call?  Paul's questions lead us to this pattern:  those who are sent preach so that others hear, believe and call on the name of the Lord.  So who has been sent?  Jesus said, "As the Father has sent me, so I send you."  Every believer is a missionary.  Every day is a mission trip.  Every person we know needs Christ.

What if we viewed all people, including ourselves, as God does:  sinners in need of salvation.  I remember when my youngest brother Darin was born.  I couldn't wait to tell Mrs. Hergenrother, my third grade teacher.  After all, my parents had waited nine months for Darin, but I had been waiting nine years.  I had to tell someone.  Jimmy McClellan heard the news when he sat down beside me on the school bus.  Jimmy outran me to tell Mrs. Hergenrother.  I forgive him.  Some news is too good not to share.  The story of Jesus, for example . . .

Pray with me:
Father, thank you for the beautiful feet of those who brought us the good news.  Thank you for sending Jack Pardee to Faith Baptist Church to preach the good news in Einsiedlerhof, Germany.  Thank you especially for my mom who taught me to trust you as Savior.  Help us to see ourselves on mission, loving the same world in the same way which led you to send your only Son.  Give us the privilege of building relationships  with others which enable them to hear the good news as we share it.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
Joyfully,
