A Message from Federation’s CEO Gil Preuss
I have just returned from Federation’s Israel YOUR Way Mission to Israel. Throughout our journey, we saw many of the miracles of Israel and what it has created over the past 70 years. We also heard many of the ongoing challenges that will be critical in defining its future. Walking the streets, visiting organizations and meeting the citizens of this amazing country, I was reminded of an Israeli pioneer song from the early years of pre-state immigration: Anu banu artza livnot ulehibanot bah—"We come to this land to build it and be built by it!” This spirit is still intact today.

Celebrate our Local Teacher-Treasures at ROUTES
World—renowned politicians and celebrities pass through this city on a regular basis, but Judaism reminds us that, "the real guardians of a state are the teachers." On November 5, a sample of local Jewish treasures—teachers, rabbis, social entrepreneurs, academics, Jewish innovators and the next generation of educational leaders from across our community—will be on display at ROUTES: A Day of Jewish Learning. They will share wisdom and inspiration, discuss issues of Jewish life and identity and help us engage with compelling ideas from different movements and perspectives, expanding what it means to learn, live and grow Jewishly. (Walk-ins are welcome.)
