"Meetings with Michael"
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Meetings with Michael. We appreciate your insights and ideas on the dress code topic. We are working on a summary of the discussions that will be shared with families in the coming week.
As always, Mr. Turner encourages feedback. Feel free to email or call him if you have thoughts to share.
Register Now for Challenge Discovery (6th & 7th Grade)
The sixth and seventh grades will be spending Friday, October 16 at Challenge Discovery on the University of Richmond’s campus. Much more than a ropes course, Challenge Discovery combines fun problem-solving exercises with achievable physical challenges.
Please register your sixth or seventh grader online at : HTTP://WWW.CHALLENGEDISCOVERY.COM/PARTICIPANT-FORMS/.  Forms must be completed by the end of the day Monday, October 12. There are two forms; one form requires medical information and the second is a participant agreement.  Please keep the confirmation email for your records.
Birthday Books
The presentation of Birthday Books to the library is a special tradition at St. Michael’s. Each year, students may choose a favorite book from a selection of new books set aside in the library, from a bookstore or by special order through the librarian. A special bookplate in the front of each Birthday Book contains the name and birthday of the child presenting the book to the library collection. Books may also be given in honor or memory of someone. The first assembly honoring Birthday Book presentations will be held on the Bon Air Campus on Thursday, October 29.
If interested, the deadline to submit birthday books is October 15th. If you have questions, please contact Carol Wise.

Healthy Snacking Tip: Adding More Vegetables
Celery and carrot sticks on their own may not get eaten, but with a healthy dip like humus, they will quickly disappear.
