Walsh University's 2024 Spring Presidential Thought Leadership Series Explores Diplomacy in the Catholic Church |

Walsh University hosted a truly extraordinary guest for its 2024 Spring Presidential Thought Leadership Series: a key figure shaping international diplomacy at the United Nations. Sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Tony Orahoske (Tony ’82), this event marked a historic first for the University, shedding light on the profound subject of Diplomacy in the Church and its far-reaching global impact.
The fireside chat featured Archbishop Gabriele Caccia, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations in New York and Bishop David Bonnar of the Youngstown Diocese, who served as a moderator. It attracted an audience of around 250 community members, including representatives from the Youngstown Diocese, Walsh University faculty, staff, students, board members, alumni, and local dignitaries, all eagerly seeking enlightenment. Summer/Fall Registration Pop Up Today, GLC Media Center |
Representatives from various administrative departments will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Toot Global Learning Center Media Center today to assist students with their registration questions, troubleshoot any issues, and assist in the registration process for summer and fall registration. This is a wonderful opportunity to address topics relating to course selection, overrides, holds, and seek guidance. Bring your laptops and we’ll see you there!

Be mesmerized by choral pieces curated by this year's graduates, promising a night of musical delight.

Parents, enjoy an evening out while the kids enjoy themselves on campus with our dedicated Education students. Bring your kids to campus on Thursday, April 18, from 6 to 9 p.m., for a night of crafts, games, face painting, and more in the Paul & Carol David Center, Game Room (lower level)! Dinner and snacks will be provided. Children must be between 5–12 years of age to participate, and the cost is $15 per child. Walsh University Fit Family 5K |
The Walsh University Physical Therapy Program, in collaboration with the Ohio Challenge Series, invites you to participate in the 13th Annual Fit Family 5K on Saturday, Sept. 14. Whether you are an experienced runner or not, whether you like to run with family or alone, all are welcome to join! This race is meant to encourage fitness and health for all ages, and to help support Walsh’s DPT students throughout their endeavors. Races include a walk and run 5K around the Walsh University campus and local neighborhood starting at 9 a.m., as well as a Kids Fun-Run starting at 8 a.m. Beverages and bake sale items will be available to purchase throughout the race. The tax deadline is upon us, and Walsh accounting students recently partnered with United Way of Greater Stark County’s Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to provide tax preparation services to economically disadvantaged taxpayers. The accounting students hosted two tax clinics for the 2024 tax season.

The Garage hosted the Lighthouse Ministries Business Builder program, a middle school-aged entrepreneurial program on campus. The Garage students and Business Club students have been mentors for these students since the start of the spring terms.

The Ohio Physical Therapy Association held its annual Spring Conference April 5–6 in Columbus, Ohio. Walsh University’s DPT program was recognized as the 2024 recipient of the APTA Core Value Superlative for Excellence. Our program was recognized for embracing advancement in professional endeavors in service to others.
During this conference, two Walsh DPT students in the Class of 2025 were elected to the 2024-2025 OPTA Student Special Interest Group (SIG) Leadership Board. Trinity Thompson will be the Student Council Representative to the APTA Student Assembly and Dan Turner the Early Professional SIG Liaison. They will represent students from across Ohio DPT programs in their respective roles.
