| The Beaty Biodiversity Museum is 10! The Beaty Biodiversity Museum is thrilled to celebrate our tenth year of being open to the public!
We would love to see you in person, so as our birthday present to you, we welcome you to visit by donation between 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Friday, October 16, 2020. Please book your timed-entry ticket here.
If you can’t be with us in person, we will also celebrate with an Anniversary Livestream at 3:00 pm PDT on Zoom and Facebook Live. Expect a tour of the museum, a view into collections work, interview with curators, Q&A time, and the premiere of our anniversary celebration video. Registration for the Livestream is by donation. Connect virtually with us live every Wednesday at 1:00 pm PST for a Zoom Livestream to learn something new at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum!
Join our interpreters during a weekly virtual tour, focusing on a topic of their choice. It will always be a surprise! We may walk through the museum together, showcase specimens in the lab, and/or show some great museum video and photos. We will always do our best to answer your questions. Expect a wide variety of stories that may include museum history, evolution, ecology, local diversity, biodiversity basics, and UBC Biodiversity Research. Join us live on Zoom! Click here to register
When registering for the Beaty@Home sessions, you’ll see an option to pay as you can. All funds support the museum! We suggest $5 per participant, but with a sliding ticket scale from $0, no one will be turned away.

This summer, Dr. Colin MacLeod, Curatorial Assistant for the Marine Invertebrate Collection, has been collecting and documenting the invertebrate species found under rocks and hiding in seaweed on Spanish Banks, Point Grey Park, Tower Beach, and many other sites in Burrard Inlet.

Join us ONLINE the first Sunday of the month at 10:30 am for biodiversity activities for children ages 5 – 12 years old accompanied by their families. Our museum educators, along with special guests from the Pacific Museum of Earth and UBC will explore a variety of topics.
Families are also welcome to visit us IN PERSON during Nature Club weekends to explore the collections at their own pace. Download our suggested activity sheets each month to focus your visit. Our team is taking all steps to ensure the safest conditions for our visitors and staff.

Everyone is welcome to participate! Thanks to the generous support of Campus and Community Planning, UBC campus families can take part for free! Other families can join our Online Nature Club for $10 per household and can use their membership or regular admission tickets to explore the museum on Nature Club weekends.
