Dear Traveler,
The warm, sunny days and green hills of June are all I can think about lately. And wow, summer sure looks good on Transylvania County. The mountains just seem to come to life this time of year, don’t they? There are so many trails to explore, waterfalls to chase, views to see — and so little time! All this outdoor adventure puts a spring in my step and a song in my heart.
Speaking of songs, several live music events are happening this month that I can’t wait to check out. And the best part? There’s a little of everything across the musical spectrum, from full orchestral performances to laid-back acoustic jams at the local watering holes. Sounds like fun, right?
I can’t wait. Let’s make plans in July, too.

East Main Street will be filled with activities and entertainment for the whole family, and the evening will cap off with a spectacular fireworks display at 9:30. For the best view, head over to Brevard College’s campus and Jailhouse Hill (Broad St. from E. Main St. to French Broad St.)

With her 55th studio album out earlier this year, musician Judy Collins is just as active as ever. Her decades-long career began with the folk boom of the early ‘60s and has remained active ever since. The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter will perform select pieces from her album, Wildflowers in Full Bloom, with the Brevard Festival Orchestra.
