The CASA Connection

Message from the Executive Director

Welcome!  I am pleased to introduce our first edition of the CASA Connection.  We are launching this newsletter during the important month of April, which is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Whether you are new to CASA DuPage, or you are a long-time friend, we hope to share meaningful stories, important news items and positive outcomes.  Please share this newsletter with friends who might want to learn more about DuPage CASA and let us know if you have suggestions on topics of interest.  Our goal is to keep connected and provide you with a bit of inspiration.

Warm regards,

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Special thanks to our Juvenile Court Judges Coco and Jacobs, who joined Chief Judge Popejoy along with CASA staff and volunteers to tie blue ribbons on the trees surrounding the DuPage County Courthouse.

Recently, we have seen many children subjected to abuse and neglect as families struggle to cope with anxiety and financial hardship.  During Child Abuse Prevention Month, it is more important than ever to raise awareness about positive parenting, keeping children safe, and encouraging families to support each other and reach out for help.

Support CASA with a
Golf Partnership!

CASA of DuPage County is hosting its Champions of Hope Golf Outing on Monday, May 24th at Prairie Landing Golf Club in West Chicago.  The event will support children who have been subjected to abuse or neglect and have entered the DuPage County court system.

The event is nearly sold out, however, limited partnership opportunities and hole sponsorships are still available!  Click the Register Now button below to learn about available opportunities.

Advocates Who Inspire

CASA DuPage is pleased to introduce you to one of our extraordinary Advocates, Jean Krafft.

Jean first learned about CASA after picking up a book at the airport that mentioned CASA.  Curious about the organization, she quickly reached out and completed her Advocate Training Class in 2012.  Since then, she's advocated for 7 children in juvenile court and and 5 in probate guardianship cases.

Thank you ALL
CASA Volunteers!

National Volunteer Week is April 18-24.  We recognize the tremendous committment our volunteers have made to children in our community who have been abused or neglected.

From volunteer Advocates, to our volunteer Board of Directors, to every event volunteer, we are profoundly grateful for your time and support!
