The first Pep Rally of the year was a huge success on Mustang Mountain. Campus was buzzing with excitement as students, faculty and parents came together for the much-anticipated Fall Sports Pep Rally on Sept. 1. With the Mustangs first home football game later that evening, the event served as the an opportunity to ignite school spirit and rally support for our team.

The heart of the pep rally was the team introductions. Athletes from various fall sports including football, golf, cross country, volleyball, tennis and cheer all paraded into the gym, greeted by cheers and applause from the audience.

The cheerleaders put on an impressive routine, which had an unexpected twist at the end. Our Varsity Football team took the floor alongside our cheerleaders and performed a routine for the entire school community. This added an extra dose of energy and laughs to the event.

The CAC Band, named the "Spirit of the Mountain," added more spirit and energy to the environment with their performance of peppy favorites and ending the event with our traditional Alma Mater.
After the Pep Rally, our Mustangs went on to dominate Perryville 40-6. Turnout to the game was a huge success after a much-anticipated look at the recent upgrades to the newly-named Simmons Bank Stadium. Our student section was loud and supportive the entire game. Thank you to Sam Schimmel for leading our student section.

The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe |

CAC will perform “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” Dec. 1-3, and the cast was finalized on Aug. 3. The production is based on the fantasy story about four kids who travel through a wardrobe to the land of Narnia and learn of their destiny to free it with the guidance of a mystical lion.
Senior Ella Tappe plays a crucial role in the upcoming play as the White Witch. She is looking forward to the play and the opportunities within it.
“I'm really excited I get to play a villain in this year's production," she said. "Being the villain is a great opportunity for me because I have never played an antagonist before."
As the White Witch, Tappe has a lot of important tasks to do.
“In my role, I carry around a golden wand," she said. "Throughout Narnia I am hated and feared, as my role is to be a villain. In the play, I perform a role of authority, which means I get to yell a lot. A fun part of my role is when I get to slaughter a lion. I am most looking forward to wearing a sick snow costume as the White Witch."

In this week's edition of the Pony Press, we interviewed freshman Mia Adams about her transition from 8th grade into 9th grade. We asked her what the biggest difference was from 8th grade to freshman year, she said: “It is harder, and there is a lot more work. Freshman year has more responsibility, and it matters more." Some advice Mia would give to current 8th graders: “Be prepared, and don't just expect it to be super easy because it is not.”
