May 2017
Spring has sprung, and summer is just around the corner! As the old song goes, "every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." As our Spring 2017 semester of mid-week Bible Study ends, I pray that the 275 women in various groups this spring had an excellent season in God's word and in fellowship with other women. Additionally, I want to thank our many teachers, group leaders, and staff who make mid-week groups happen. THANK YOU!
As we approach many end-of-semester milestones, there is so much waiting. Do you envision a finish line? On some days, that finish line may seem so far away that it will never get here! But looking back, that finish line can also surprise us at how fast it actually came.
God's word reminds us that as we wait on Him, He gives us strength:
Isaiah 40:30-31 (ESV)
Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
As you exit one season and enter another, please look around to those women who are just a season behind you, and offer them a word of encouragement. Some of the most faint, weary and exhausted among us are our moms of young children. Those "diaper years" leave no rest for the weary! Ladies, in honor of Mother's Day, let's all take the opportunity this weekend to encourage each other. Whether you have a "threenager" or a teenager, are an empty nester or a busy working mom...let's be sure to build each other up!
I wish everyone a beautiful day on Sunday celebrating mothers everywhere...your mom, your grandma, aunts, sisters and friends -- ALL the mothers you love!
Happy Mother's Day!
