As part of Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch’s continued efforts to make the Park City neighborhoods cleaner, earlier this year the city kicked off a new initiative called “Neighborhood Fridays,” which is an aggressive clean-up effort targeting a different neighborhood every week. It involves public facilities crews and other city departments working hard and together to pick up trash, fix potholes, re-paint street lines, and repair damaged signs.
“We’re making Bridgeport a better place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch. “Our Neighborhood Fridays clean-up program is a great example,” said Mayor Finch. “Kudos to the City’s Public Facilities Department for their incredible work.”
Results from the Neighborhood Fridays Program alone include:
- 174,020 pounds of illegal dumping removed.
- 1,156 total potholes fixed,
- 492 miles of road swept.
- 256 total street signs repaired.
