Enrollment in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business increased 8.7 percent over a year ago, according to recently released fall 2020 enrollment data by Clemson University. Data also shows the demand for business courses has never been higher in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business and the first-time freshman cohort was the largest in the business education’s history at Clemson.

Deloitte extends job offers to 11 ‘market-ready’ students in MGT 4970
Dean Wendy York’s commitment to the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business producing market-ready graduates has been lived out in a Department of Management class this semester. Eleven students from Ryan Toole’s MGT 4970 class have received full-time job offers from global professional services giant Deloitte Consulting LLP before receiving their diplomas from Clemson University.

Clemson economist aids $25 million wireless research-innovation effort
A Clemson University economist has joined 40 other scholars from across the country in a major effort to create a world-class research and innovation center aimed at enhancing wireless services for consumers, business, the government and science. Thomas W. Hazlett, H.H. Macaulay Endowed Professor in the John E. Walker Department of Economics, is Clemson’s connection to the Spectrum Innovation Initiative, a five-year National Science Foundation (NSF) grant that could be used to launch SpectrumX – The National Center for Spectrum Innovation.

Army and Air Force ROTC commissions eleven second lieutenants in joint ceremony
Clemson University’s Army and Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps units held a joint ceremony to commission eleven second lieutenants on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. The ceremony, with limited attendance, was held in Tillman Hall Auditorium and broadcast via Facebook Live. Five students received commissions into the U.S. Army and six students received commissions into the U.S. Air Force.

A business fraternity in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business has received three awards from the national Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. Delta Sigma Pi’s Kappa Tau Chapter from Clemson University is the recipient of the regional Outstanding Financial Operations Award, the regional Outstanding Service Award and the regional R. Nelson Mitchell Outstanding Collegiate Chapter Award.

A Department of Management researcher has won junior researcher best paper award recognition from the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the Multi-Criteria Decision Making community. The organization’s “MCDM Junior Researcher Best Paper Award” was presented to M. Gabriela Sava, assistant professor in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University, during the INFORMS annual meeting in November.
