Dear Campus Community Members:
The 2025 Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence and President’s Award for Student Excellence acknowledge students who have received recognition for outstanding achievements. We are seeking nominations of students who have best demonstrated and been recognized for excellence in at least three of the following areas:
- Academic excellence
- Leadership
- Diversity, equity, inclusion and justice
- Campus involvement and community service
- Research and development
- The arts (creative or performing)
A student may only be nominated by a current SUNY New Paltz faculty, staff, or administrator. Though student self-nominations will not be accepted, we encourage you to work with a deserving student nominee to complete the details of the nomination form.
Please note that you CANNOT SAVE work in the form and return back to it. It is recommended to review the form for the required information, work on your submission locally, and then copy and paste it into the submission form when you are ready.
For the Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence, SUNY seeks students who have best demonstrated the integration of SUNY excellence within many aspects of their lives. The achievements and accomplishments listed in their nomination should reflect why they are one of the top students SUNY-wide. Achievements and accomplishments must have been attained while enrolled at SUNY New Paltz. Awards or recognition from previous institutions will not be considered. Nominations with measurable, long-term accomplishments and achievements will be rated higher. Similarly, student achievements that positively impact the greater campus community and/or local communities will be valued higher than other achievements.
The SUNY New Paltz President’s Award for Student Excellence is the highest recognition bestowed upon students at the campus level and pays tribute to 10 to 15 students who demonstrated outstanding achievement in the same areas as the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence.
