March is Child Life Month!

In March, Lancaster General Hospital and hospitals worldwide celebrate child life specialists and the Child Life profession through education and awareness of their work. Child life specialists help normalize the hospital experience for children and bring joy, comfort, and specialized care to hospitalized kids and their families.

Hear Taylor’s story of gratitude about her experience during her stay at the Seraph-McSparren Pediatric Inpatient Center and the invaluable services from which she and her family benefitted.

Child life is not a billable service, so we rely on philanthropy to fund these vital positions in our Seraph-McSparren Pediatric Inpatient Center and the Emergency Department at Lancaster General Hospital. Our goal during the next three years is to grow the Child Life program so that our youngest patients have access to this important service at all points of care across the LG Health system.

Join the Women’s Giving Circle

Since 2006, the Women's Giving Circle has funded dozens of projects and programs that support women’s and children's health at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. The Women's Giving Circle allows members to pool their annual contributions and make a more significant impact than they could likely do on their own. All members get to vote on potential projects each spring, giving every member a voice as to where their collective investment is allocated.

Doctor’s Day is just one day of the year when we celebrate the contributions of physicians who serve our community. Many patients and their families often ask how they can “give back” to those who have made a difference in the care they received at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health.

This Doctor’s Day, consider making a Healthcare Hero gift to the LG Health Foundation to honor your doctor. Our Healthcare Hero program allows you to recognize a caregiver who has made a meaningful impact on your life.

Although the amount of your gift remains confidential, your Healthcare Hero will be notified of your honorary gift. We'll also share your message of gratitude, acknowledging the work they do for you and our community.
