Annual Science and Technology Summit |
We are so grateful to all those who made our Annual Science and Technology Summit a success. Last week, students, community members, government officials, educators, and global industry leaders came together at Walsh University to learn how STEM can foster workforce development and how Stark County is poised to be a hub of innovation and growth! Here’s just a quick peek at what took place.

Students Please Volunteer for Breakfast with Santa on December 3! |
Student volunteers are needed for the annual Breakfast and Brunch with Santa alumni event on Sunday, Dec. 3. Dress as an elf and help Santa and Mrs. Claus and their photographer in Santa's Workshop, serve as a train conductor, or help children write letters to Santa, make crafts, or decorate Christmas cookies and drink cocoa! Next week, the City of Canton (Civil Service Commission) in partnership with the Office of Alumni & Career Connections will be hosting another Employer Visit Series on Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 4- 5:30 p.m. The afternoon will include a tour of the Civil Service Commission’s offices, an opportunity to network with professionals, as well as a description of the current intern and job openings they have available for students. Last Spring’s Employer Visit Series was very successful, with one student earning a full-time job as a direct result of networking during the event! Walsh University in partnership with the Serving Area Military (SAM) Center will be collecting toys for the children of military families ages 16 and under between now and Dec. 4. The SAM Center seeks toy donations such as board games, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) kits, craft kits, Lego kits, Nerf, and make-up kits for teens, etc. Drop-off boxes are in the David Campus Center near the post office and in the Toot Global Learning Center atrium. Thank you for helping bring holiday cheer to those families serving our country!

The Hoover Historical Center at Walsh University is excited to announce the annual Christmas on Hoover Farm event will be held on Sunday Dec. 3, from 1-4 p.m.

December 6: Student Holiday Lunch |
Christmas Holiday Lunch for students. Enjoy the Christmas ambiance with lunch, photos with Santa, music, raffles, and more! Lunch will be in the Schervish Dining Hall from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

December 8, 9: Christmas Celebration “Lessons and Carols” |
Concerts will be held on successive nights, Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel.

The Cavs Closet located in Lemmon Hall is stocked with coats for winter! Students in need can show their Student ID and pick up a “Coats for Cavs” pass in the Alumni & Career Connections office before visiting the Cavs Closet, which is open on for walk-ins on Tuesdays from 12 until 1:30 p.m. To make an appointment for a day/time that is more convenient, email cavscloset@walsh.edu.

The Cavs Cave located in Hannon, Room 103, is self-serve for students in need and open for business from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily. The shelves are stocked with non-perishable food items and the newly added refrigerator/freezer is stocked with fresh and frozen food. In addition, there is a wide selection of personal hygiene products. Questions can be directed to cavscave@walsh.edu. Stay tuned for a donation drive held with the Christmas Concert.

The Academic Calendar for students, staff, and faculty, includes dates to note throughout the semester, such as add/drop deadlines, last day to withdraw with a “W,” and final grade deadlines.
