Neighbors,
Good afternoon. Our meeting at Amira Choice Senior Living on Wednesday was a blast! Neighborhood Leaders participated in an evening centered around intergenerational communication techniques and strategies led by Jeffrey Vargas of Generationology. Leaders role played scenarios featuring confrontations between neighbors of differing generations and worked their way through finding productive solutions. Some of our older Leaders were very committed to being stubborn Millennials which was highly entertaining to witness. As we go forward, let’s keep in mind the way our generations influence our communication preferences and remember to make a habit out of helping our neighbors to feel seen, valued and heard.
Jeff was kind enough to share his slides and exercises with us in case you would like to reference his presentation or if you were unable to make it.

Team members from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Office of Suicide Prevention joined us to share resources. You can text or call 988 if you or someone you know is struggling. Check out their website for more resources and information about suicide prevention. Also, consider attending the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Walk on September 26, at Berkeley Lake in Denver. This is an amazing day of remembrance and an event to come together in support of one another.
