Badger Crops and Soils Update Meetings The annual Badger Crops and Soils Update meetings will be offered in three one-day, in-person sessions along with one virtual session this year. The meetings will present the latest information on agronomic, pest, and nutrient management research coming out of the University of Wisconsin with a lens to on-farm application.
In-person sessions are in Eau Claire (Dec. 3), Arlington (Dec. 4), and Appleton (Dec. 5). The online session will be held via Zoom on Dec. 6. The in-person registration fee includes lunch. The virtual session has a reduced registration fee.

Wisconsin Youth Raise their Voices to Impact Peer Mental Health
Youth mental health has been a growing concern in Wisconsin with 1 in 5 youth ages 14-24 living with a serious mental illness and suicide being the second leading cause of death for people ages 10-34. Raise Your Voice is a youth-led program that hopes to change that.

WELCOME! Manuel Peña – Regional Dairy Educator; Sheboygan, Fond Du Lac, Dodge, and Ozaukee.
Manuel is the new Regional Dairy Educator for Sheboygan, Fond Du Lac, Dodge, and Ozaukee Counties. He is originally from Duitama, a small city in Colombia, 3 hours north of Bogotá, the capital city. He received his bachelor’s degree on Animal Science at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. In the last semesters he worked for a national breeding association. After graduation he did an internship at NC State University working on Dairy management and another one at University of Florida working on forages and nutrition.

Mycotoxins: Beware of this Hidden Danger in this Fall’s Harvest
When it rains, it pours, and unfortunately for much of the upper Midwest, this was a reality in spring and early summer of 2024. In Wisconsin, it seemed like every passing rain cloud dropped an inch or more of rain, and those clouds just kept coming. Combine record moisture in some areas with high humidity and clouds, and it was the perfect storm for slugs, molds, and diseases to infiltrate our crop fields and cause damage.

Cloverbud Pumpkin Contest
The annual 4-H Cloverbud Pumpkin Contest was held on Saturday, October 21, at UW Oshkosh Fond du Lac Campus. Cloverbud members, 4-H youth grades kindergarten to second, were able to enter a pumpkin in the contest. The morning of the contest Teen Leaders and volunteers helped weigh, measure, and judge the pumpkins.
