Prior to his arrival at Stony Brook Bill spent 12 years at SUNY Maritime College where he provided senior level planning, design, construction and long-term facilities operations as Director of Capital Program Management, Facilities and Information Technology. During this time, he developed and managed the College’s multi-year capital plan including strategic initiatives, critical maintenance, residence hall and sustainability programs, as well as the creation of comprehensive Facilities and Energy Master Plans.
Bill earned a Master of Science degree in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Management, and Economics with a concentration in Facilities Administration from SUNY Empire State University. He also is a NYS Certified Code Official and a representative for the New York State Coalition for Sustainability in Higher Education (NYCSHE).
Bill brings his extensive experience and skills to the versatile leadership team and support staff at Facilities & Services, including CPDC and Campus Operations & Maintenance (COM). Having had the pleasure of directly working with Bill Herrmann and Terence Harrigan, Associate VP of COM, since I came to Stony Brook in July of 2022, I am looking forward to collaborating with and supporting Bill as he works to chart the Division’s course for Facilities & Services. Bill will be partnering with academic deans, stakeholders and many of you across Stony Brook University as we begin the process of developing an overall campus master plan.
