Iowa County 4-H is offering Annual Authorization Sessions to support club leaders with completing required financial paperwork. Join one of the sessions to receive guidance, ask questions, and ensure everything is submitted on time.
Sessions will be held on July 27 or August 10 from 4:00–6:00 PM at the Health and Human Services Building in Dodgeville. All materials are due August 17 at the Extension Office.

Animals large and small are a large part of Wisconsin 4-H. Learn how to raise, feed, care for, judge, and show both large and small animals typically found on a farm, including beef and dairy cattle, dairy and meat goats, horses, sheep, swine, and poultry. Topics may include selection, feeding, housing and daily needs, body parts, handling, genetics, and reproduction. Click below to learn more about this project area.

Cloverbuds Explore Nature During “Into the Woods” Day Camp
Young 4-H Cloverbuds spent July 16 exploring the wonders of nature during the annual Cloverbud Day Camp, themed “Into the Woods,” at the HHS Building in Dodgeville.
Youth in kindergarten through second grade participated in a variety of hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity while learning about the outdoors. Throughout the morning, campers enjoyed nature-themed crafts, STEM activities, woodland stories, songs, and trail-inspired snacks.
One highlight of the day was the creation of woodland animal masks. Campers proudly modeled their handcrafted masks, transforming themselves into foxes, rabbits, deer, bears, owls, and other forest creatures as they learned about animals that call Wisconsin’s forests home.
The camp concluded with a special performance for parents, allowing participants to showcase what they had learned during their woodland adventure. In addition to having fun, youth-built friendships, practiced teamwork, and developed confidence through the day’s activities.
The annual Cloverbud Day Camp provides young 4-H members with opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences while fostering a love of nature, discovery, and community involvement.

Summerween Craft Night Fun!
4-H youth had a fantastic time at our recent 4-H Summerween Craft Night, combining the spooky fun of Halloween with the bright, playful spirit of summer. Participants painted and decorated their own ceramic pumpkins, creating everything from classic jack-o'-lanterns to colorful summer-inspired designs. Creativity was on full display as youth explored different painting techniques and brought their unique ideas to life. The finished pumpkins made wonderful decorations and showcased the imagination and artistic talents of everyone who attended. Thank you to all who joined us for an evening of creativity, fun, and Summerween spirit!

Growing You, Growing Youth is a professional development series created for 4‑H volunteers, designed to strengthen skills, confidence, and impact. Each sheet highlights a practical topic—such as learning objectives, volunteer roles, youth engagement, policies, and experiential learning—while connecting volunteer growth to positive youth development. These bite‑sized resources support volunteers as they grow in their roles and, in turn, help youth build life skills through meaningful 4‑H experiences.

The Iowa County 4-H Leaders Association is committed to helping make 4-H accessible to all youth. Families may request reimbursement for a portion of the registration fees they pay for an experience in 4-H.
The Leaders Association may reimburse up to 1/3 of the total cost of the experience. Reimbursement amounts are subject to approval and available funds.
A short reflection (3 questions below) is required as part of the reimbursement process to help us share the impact of the program with our supporters.
Reimbursement requests may be submitted for participation in approved educational livestock events, including but not limited to Show Clinic, Area Animal Science Days, Animal Judging, Arts Camp, Art Classes, etc.
