Earlier this month, Cumulus' Country/WWKI (100.5fm, Kokomo) turned 50 years old. When 100.5fm signed on in 1968, the station aired Classical music. Roughly a year later, the format changed to Country, and is now widely known by their last two call letters: "100.5 'KI." The station had lots of special programming during that week, including interviews with veteran radio station staff, commemorative imaging, and a "Business After Hours/50th Anniversary” event.
Northwest
Northwest Indiana Public Broadcasting's NPR-Variety/WLPR (89.1fm, Lowell) updates their weekend programming:
Saturday additions: "Planet Money" (3:00pm), "How I Built This" (3:30pm).
Sunday additions: "Planet Money" (5:00pm), "How I Built This" (5:30pm).
Also, late Friday night (or early Saturday morning, if you prefer), "Blues America" joins the lineup at Midnight.
