Orientation 2024 Highlights
|
The academic year started with 2024 New Student Orientation. After the class photo, first-year students were welcomed by their RIT family during the lively Tiger Walk. Faculty, staff, and returning students lined the path, offering high-fives and words of encouragement as the new students made their way to the New Student Convocation. RIT’s beloved mascot, RITchie, added to the energy and school spirit, making it a memorable start to their journey at RIT.

The 2024 NTID Career Fair is Wednesday, October 9, from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. on the first floor of Lyndon B. Johnson Hall.
This event is open to all deaf and hard-of-hearing students pursuing associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, as well as alumni, to explore co-op and employment opportunities. Interpreters will be available at each company’s table, and many of the attending representatives are RIT/NTID alumni.
Encourage your student to dress professionally and connect with their employment advisor to prepare. We look forward to seeing them on October 9!

Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend (October 18-20) |
|
|
Get ready for Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend 2024! It’s the perfect time to visit campus, reconnect with your student, and join in on all the fun.
A special event to look forward to is the NTID Parents Welcome Breakfast on Saturday, October 19, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Dyer Arts Center. This breakfast is a great chance for NTID and RIT cross-registered students to bring their families, meet faculty and staff, and get answers to questions about academics, financial aid, or campus resources. Families were sent a separate email about this, but if you didn’t receive that and want to RSVP please email Loriann Macko at Loriann.Macko@rit.edu.
There’ll also be plenty of other NTID events throughout the weekend, like evening entertainment, mini-gatherings, and more! Keep an eye on your inbox for the full details.
