Crafting a Competitive Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Application
Wednesday, April 10, 5:30 p.m., VDA 190
Fulbright places ETAs in elementary schools, secondary schools, or in universities in over 75 countries to supplement local English language instruction & to provide a native speaker presence in the classrooms.
Since ETAs only teach approximately 20 hours per week, they also propose community engagement activities in their applications. Examples of past community engagement activities have included: volunteering with local non-profits or Non-governmental organizations, conducting independent research or creative projects, language study, and participating in or leading a community club.
ETAs receive round-trip transportation to the host country; funding to cover room, board, and incidental costs; accident & sickness health benefits; and more!
Learn how teaching English abroad during the 2020-21 academic year can support a wide range of career goals. We will also discuss how to craft a competitive application package and LMU's campus process.
Juniors, graduating seniors, graduate students, and alumni are encouraged to attend. Applicants do not have to be pursuing careers in education. Fulbright seeks qualified individuals from all disciplines and majors*.

*Applicants must be U.S. citizens
