The strangest semester ever is almost over. Starting Thursday, Nov. 5, there are 13 days left before classes end Tuesday, Nov. 17. Let’s finish strong so we can have no regrets during the longest winter break ever.
Tips
- Schedule time to study and stick to it.
- Make use of expanded library hours.
- Eat healthy and sleep – plenty of time to not do that over the break.
- Ignore social media as long as you can. You have your own stuff to take care of.
It’s never too late to ask for help! Look through the tutoring resources below. Ole Miss has so many resources to help you succeed, it might be hard to know where to start. Contact your advisor ASAP if you need help and they can let you know what all your options are.
Academic Support Programs: in-person and virtual academic support, including academic success workshops, student success coaching and academic consultations
Writing Center: virtual assistance with papers for any course, not just writing courses

It’s getting cold and stressy out there. Just a reminder that Campus Rec facilities are available to all students and that even a little bitty workout can be a boost of magic for your mood. Group fitness classes like barre, cardio kickboxing and yogalates are meeting until Nov. 15, (with a Fit Pass) or just get to work on a machine or the weights. However you do it, wear a mask inside the facilities when you’re not actively working out.

Grove Grocery (formerly the UM Food Bank) is an on-campus food pantry. Students on a meal plan can donate two meal swipes per semester to Grove Grocery if they have the Rebel Unlimited Plus 1, Weekly 14 or Weekly 12 meal plans. Students with the Rebel Unlimited plan can only donate Plus 1s. And, Aramark will match the first 300 meal swipes donated.

Spring 2021 will have more face-to-face and hybrid classes than Fall 2020, so if you want a refresher on how the different class formats work, the Keep Learning site has four videos explaining the four different course delivery formats (face-to-face, hybrid, remote and online).
Then there are 28, YES 28, videos from professors across the university explaining in detail how they teach their classes in different formats. By watching some of these, you can make sure you’re informed about your classes before you register.

The Division of Diversity and Community Engagement has coping tips called CARE: Commit to self-care, Acknowledge your feelings, Rejuvenate your soul and Evolve and adapt to changes. This week, The Powder Blue is sharing “Rejuvenate your soul” tips, with help from Tony the Landshark.

RebelTHON has been competing with Mississippi State’s Dance Marathon all week to raise the most money for its dance marathon that will benefit Batson Children’s Hospital. Thursday, Nov. 5 is RebelTHON’s big push day, with Zoomba at 12:30 p.m. and percentage night at Newk’s on Jackson Ave. The last event of Beat State week is a Venmo raffle on Friday. $1 buys one raffle entry at Venmo username @RebelTHON.

Anyone who has already been tested through the Sentinel Testing Program is eligible to be tested again before going home over the break, because you don't want to bring home THAT Christmas present. These free, rapid tests are available to all asymptomatic students, faculty and staff on Nov. 10-11, 19-20 and 23-25. You can drive through or walk up to the testing areas in the Ford Center media parking lot.
Flu shots are available at Pharmacy Health Services, located inside the V.B. Harrison Health Center. Student organizations may also place a request for Student Health Pharmacy to administer flu shots to organization members at a time and place specified by the student organization.
