Frederick M. Roberts College Scholarship- Deadline: April 25! Named after the first African American Legislator in California, Frederick Roberts, the California Legislative Black Caucus Policy Institute (CLBCPI) Scholarship Program was established to assist deserving students by offering financial assistance to help meet educational expenses. Open to full-time students currently enrolled at an accredited College or University with a minimum 2.5 GPA and can provide proof of high school diploma in the State of California.

The Business of Fashion Next Generation Black Journalists Fellowship- Deadline: April 30! A six-month, part-time, paid reporting and writing programme designed to train and publish aspiring Black writers in the field of fashion business journalism.The BoF Next Generation Black Journalists Fellowship aims to support Black writers with a passionate interest in the business of fashion and beauty who do not have an extensive track record of published work. Are you a recent graduate hoping to break into journalism? Do you work behind the scenes in fashion production but dream of writing about the industry? Are you a retail worker with a flair for writing? Or a nurse who wants to bring your science education to writing about beauty products? This programme could be for you. Black writers from any country are eligible to apply.

Latinx44 Scholarship Program- Deadline: May 1! Offers scholarships to Hispanic current students and recent graduates pursuing unpaid or underfunded public service internships in Summer 2022. Each recipient will receive an award of $2,000 and will also be provided with mentoring and professional development opportunities throughout the program and beyond. Eligible applicants must have secured an internship. Eligible internships will focus on policy, community engagement, community service, advocacy, or global relations.

**NEW FELLOWSHIP** Department of Energy Clean Energy Innovator Fellowship- Deadline: May 6! Funds recent graduates and energy professionals to work with critical energy organizations to advance clean energy solutions. The program recruits talent from diverse backgrounds to spend up to two years supporting the work of eligible host organizations, which include electric public utility commissions, municipal and cooperative utilities, and grid operators, such as regional transmission organizations or independent system operators. Innovator Fellows receive a stipend and an educational allowance to support host institution projects that will help decarbonize the power system, electrify transportation and industry, and make the U.S. power system more equitable and inclusive.

Point Scholarship for BIPOC LGBTQ Students- Deadline: May 9! Provides financial, coaching and community support to Members of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. Generations of racism and an education system born from discriminatory policies have made clear that BIPOC students face greater obstacles to educational achievement. When these challenges are combined with those faced by students who also identify as LGBTQ, the impediments can make a higher education degree seem impossible. Point aims to mitigate these issues by providing financial support, community resources, and professional development. Open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, undocumented students, and international students.

Immigrant Justice Corps Community Fellowship- Deadline: May 26. Each year IJC awards Community Fellowships to recent college graduates from around the country – individuals with tremendous talent, promise, and a demonstrated commitment to providing legal services for low-income people and immigrants. This year, we expect to award about 7 fellowships. IJC trains Community Fellows to become experts in immigration law and pairs them to work within leading non-profit legal services providers and community-based organizations. Community Fellows are assisted by IJC in becoming OLAP Accredited Representatives, thereby allowing them to practice as qualified legal representatives before the Department of Homeland Security and to offer legal advice to their clients. IJC Fellows serve for two years and are provided with a full salary and benefits.

2022-2023 TELACU College Success Program Application for Undergraduates- Deadline: May 31. College Success Program (CSP) is a comprehensive support system for its participants throughout their college experience and beyond! While we provide financial awards and stipends, we are NOT just a scholarship. All individuals admitted to CSP as undergrads are expected to fulfill various requirements including, but not limited to, Session/workshop attendance, periodic full-time enrollment verification, and community service hours. Eligibility and Priority Criteria: First-generation college student, Demonstrate financial need, Minimum 2.5 GPA, Enrolled full-time in a four-year institution, Permanent resident of an underserved community within the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, or San Bernardino, and STEM or Business major (preferred).

IGNITE Fellows- Deadline: May 31 for Southern CA. Other locations have earlier (May 1) or later (July) deadlines. A premier fellowship program for women in or just out of college who want to jump-start their public service careers. Every year IGNITE recruits a cohort of diverse and passionate women in communities across America and provides them with resources, training, and networks to flex their political power and mobilize women on their campuses and in their communities to become civically engaged. Fellows work around 15 hours per week and serve as ambassadors for IGNITE’s mission and vision and play a valuable role in our efforts to spread a national message that it is time for young women to step into political power. Fellows are paid an hourly rate of $18/hour for up to 15 hours per week.

Center Theatre Group Summer 2022 Props Apprenticeship- Deadline: April 22! This cycle, the Props Apprentice will be supporting the production of To T, or Not to T, by D’Lo, and The Art Couple, by Brendan Hunt, at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Eligible applicants must be availbale between May 16 and August 13, 2022, with the capacity to commit 110 hours in 6-hour days during that timeframe. Apprentices earn a stipend of $1,650. This Apprenticeship builds skills in prop making and management. Props is a job with a wide and varied toolkit, comprised of both hands-on and computer-based components, utilizing both construction knowledge, organizational skills, and creativity. Apprentice will work with the Prop staff throughout the process of Block Party, creating props from start to finish, creating a prop list, pulling the props, attending to rehearsal needs, dressing the set, and facilitating notes in technical rehearsals.

Scholars for Conservation Leadership Program- Deadline: May 13! A career and leadership development program for rising seniors that aims to expand opportunities for students to pursue careers in natural resource management and conservation, with an emphasis on engaging underrepresented and minority students. The 2022 program will bring together 10 undergraduate college students from across the country for a virtual professional development experience in conjunction with Rally: The National Land Conservation Conference being held Sept. 15-17 in New Orelans. After the seminar, the students will attend the conference where they will have the opportunity to participate in numerous educational trainings and workshops and connect with professionals from across the nation. Additionally, each scholar will be partnered with a mentor during the conference. The scholars will be honored at the conference, and one of the scholarship recipients will also be awarded a one-year fellowship to intern with a land trust.

Los Angeles Department of Public Health Youth Advisory Council
Through the DPH Youth Advisory Council, members: Work directly with DPH staff at a public health center, serving as local DPH youth ambassadors and gaining hands-on community-level work experience. Develop leadership and advocacy skills through monthly Youth Advisory Council meetings focused on strengthening youth voice. Learn about the various public health issues impacting Los Angeles County residents and how the Department works to address them. Advise and make appropriate recommendations regarding health issues of special interest to youth within Los Angeles County, and help guide the work of the Department of Public Health. Must be a LA County resident, US citizen or permanent resident, passionate about public health and social justice, between 16-21 years old, able to commit for 1-year, and fully vaccinated. Participants get reimbursed for their work on a bi-weekly basis at $15 per activity. Learn more.

Candidates must 21+ years of age, a citizen of a NATO Member State, an enrolled university student who has completed at least two years successfully Or obtained their highest degree less than a year ago, and have proficiency in English or French and a working knowledge of the other.
