Campus housing update in light of increased enrollment |
Thanks to an integrated effort by a whole host of campus partners, Radford University has generated greater interest and engagement among prospective students. This has resulted in increased applications and deposits for the 2024-25 academic year. As a result of these intentional efforts, enrollment for the upcoming year will increase over the 2023-24 academic year, and we look forward to welcoming these additional students to our campuses.
To respond to the needs of our first-year, transfer and returning students in the midst of this growing enrollment, the university has decided use Muse Hall for student housing this year. While increased enrollment is good news for the university, Housing and Residential Life did not anticipate housing students in Muse Hall this year. They will be taking steps to ensure a high-quality and engaging experience for all our residential students, regardless of their location.
In the coming weeks, we will begin communicating this news to students. If students have any questions or concerns about their housing assignment, please ask them to contact Housing and Residential Life at housing@radford.edu or 540-831-5375.

Updates and reminders from Procurement and Contracts |
As we begin the new fiscal year, the Office of Procurement and Contracts would like to highlight the following updates for entering requisitions in eVA:
-
Line-Item Entry: ensure all requisitions are entered as line items to match quotes and invoices.
- Blanket Orders: for true blanket orders (e.g., monthly charges), enter the total dollar amount and process invoices against this amount.
Example: Monthly Parking Services, Quantity = 12, Unit Price = $1,000, Total = $12,000. -
Correct Entry of Quantity and Unit Price: enter the quantity and unit price in the correct fields. As a general rule, receiving should be done on quantity. There may be situations where receiving is done on cost. When this happens, indicate “USD” instead of “Quantity” in the unit of measure field on the receipt. For more details, see the video on the Procurement and Contracts website or contact the office.
- SPCC Orders: inform vendors if an order is to be processed as an SPCC (small purchase credit card) order. If the vendor does not accept SPCC, cancel the original requisition and enter a new purchase order for encumbrance in Banner. The vendor must invoice on the new purchase order number.
-
Bypassing Integration: only SPCC orders entered into eVA are authorized to bypass integration. Wire transfers or special change orders may qualify for exceptions. Please coordinate with Procurement and Contracts for these cases.
