The Center for Advanced Communications Policy (CACP) was one of five Georgia Tech organizations to receive Georgia Tech’s Advocates for Accessibility award. The award was accepted by CACP Executive Director W. Bradley Fain. Maureen Linden, who holds a joint appointment in the Ivan Allen College and the College of Design, received an individual Advocate for Accessibility award.

Sybrina Atwaters, director of educational services in the Office of Minority Educational Development and affiliate faculty member in the School of History and Sociology, recently presented two papers at the Society for Social Studies of Science annual meeting in Honolulu. She spoke on the papers "Why We Gather?: Counter-Cultural Collaborative Practices of Reward and Recognition in STS and Beyond" and "Leveraging Academic Identities and Affiliations to Disrupt Diversity Barriers in Academia: The Focus Program." She also chaired the event's STEM diversity session.

Regents' Professor and Brook Byers Professor of Sustainable Systems Marilyn A. Brown, Assistant Professor Tony Harding, and Ph.D. student Min-Kyeong Cha presented their research on energy and climate solutions.
