CATCH Returns to Cuenca, Ecuador!
After a successful first phase of CATCH's first Latin-American implementation, Ecuador's Ministry of Education backed an expansion of CATCH's program there from 7 to 28 schools.
A report on the first phase of our Cuenca implementation, a photo album from this recent trip, and a blog report from our Ecuador liaison Rose Jennings are all available on our blog!
In celebration of this new expansion in Ecuador, we have developed our webpage in Spanish as well! Please see catch.mx for translated content.
February is National Cancer Prevention Month!
Did you know: obesity and body weight contribute to as many as one in five cancer deaths? We take time this month to take a step back and look at how our behaviors may impact our likelihood of getting cancer. National Cancer Prevention Month focuses on healthy behaviors to help reduce cancer incidence - for instance, cutting cancer risks by moving more, maintaining a healthy weight and eating more healthfully.
The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services is working on skin cancer prevention efforts by sponsoring a training on The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's Ray and the Sunbeatables™: A Sun Safety Curriculum for Preschoolers - share with us what your community is doing to prevent and reduce cancer risks!

Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to Impact Health & PE
ESSA, which in December replaced the No Child Left Behind act as the federal legislation providing a framework and funding for primary and secondary eduction, marks health and physical education as part of a student's "well rounded education" (previously identified as core subject areas). Learn more in this helpful article from our friends at SHAPE America.
