Happy New Year! We were thrilled to kick off UACS programming this past Monday, 1/11. We can't wait to see new and returning students in our programs this spring. See below for enrollment information!
Our first newsletter of the new year is a special Martin Luther King Jr. Day edition! We have a number of MLK day events for students and families throughout the month. We hope to see you there!

Penn's 26th annual MLK symposium is going online this year. Virtual events - including those highlighted in this newsletter - will offer opportunities to reflect, engage, and celebrate with family, colleagues, and friends.

School District of Philadelphia Updates

School Selection Responses will be available today, January 15th at 5:00pm. You will be able to review your child's nominations and see which school(s) have accepted your student. See below to review the details of this process!

Join us for the Captain’s Practice Leadership Conference sponsored by the Live Like Blaine Foundation. This is a unique leadership conference for high school female athletes. This free, virtual conference will help you learn to lead with tenacity while you hear from leaders in sports and business as well as collegiate athletes. This event will be held on MLK Day, January 18th from 10am -12pm. Register HERE!

Community Resources

Jim Brown, a member of the Netter Center Community Advisory Board, had his article, "America Shot in the Arm Reaches Philadelphia," published in the Philadelphia Sun on December 31st on the community's reception to the Coronavirus vaccine reaching Philadelphia. Read more HERE!

This program offers cutting-edge job connection strategies and a $150 weekly stipend while enrolled in the program.  All applicants must live in the city of Philadelphia, possess a high school diploma or GED, hold an active valid PA driver’s license, be physically fit, commit to the full training schedule listed above, and read at an 11th grade level or higher.
