The CTE is excited to announce the call for applications for our 2026-2027 FLCs. Be sure to check out the 5 topic-based FLCs and 1 cohort-based FLC that are now accepting applications. Participation is limited to one FLC per year.
Deadline for applications is Friday, May 15, 2026.

Advancing Teacher Scholars Symposium |

Discover this year’s advances in teaching and learning at Miami. The 2025-26 Advancing Teacher Scholars cohort will share results from their research. Proposals for the Original Lilly Conference on College Teaching (November 19-21, 2026) are due June 15. Gregg Wentzell, Conference Director, will be available via Zoom to discuss preparing your proposal. Drop in at any time during the 10-11:30 am time slot to ask questions or receive feedback on your draft proposal.

The CTE is hosting 3 book discussions this summer! We supply the books and facilitate the discussions (via Zoom). Join your colleagues and engage in dialogue around teaching and learning topics. Each book club is limited to 12 participants. Please note: Book discussion registration and participation are limited to 1 book per person.

The Columbus State Faculty Idea Exchange (FIX) brings together college educators from Central Ohio and beyond to exchange innovative, evidence-based ideas, showcase effective teaching strategies grounded in research, and collaborate on practices that strengthen teaching and improve student success. Miami’s Meredith Erb (Chemistry and Biochemistry) and Bonnine Erwin (Miami Online) are copresenting a session on "Formative Classroom Observations for Reflection and Continuous Improvement.” Registration is FREE, and lunch is included.
