  1. Opportunity Alert! The PEEPS program is seeking graduate student volunteers to welcome our anticipated largest ever class of international graduate students! Sign up online for fun events, social gatherings, and make new connections with fellow Lakers during orientation! Events will take place from August 20-24, 2022. Please note you are not required to attend all events.

  2. Interested in studying abroad? Apply for a one-year, fully-funded master's program at Tsinghua University in Beijing! The Scharzman Scholar Program fellowship is designed to build a global community of future leaders in response to the geopolitical landscape of the 21st century. Students can learn more on the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships website.

  3. Student and alumni interested in promoting positive change in the world through formulating, representing, and implementing U.S. foreign policy can now apply for the Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship Program. This fellowship is a two-year, fully-funded master's program with a fully-funded internship. The application deadline is September 22, 2022!

  4. REMINDER: The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is still accepting applications! This is an opportunity for student interested in teaching English abroad or for students who are seeking support for independent research or graduate study abroad. For more information and to apply, please visit the Fulbright U.S. Student website. 

  5. We are excited to see incoming students at the New Graduate Student Orientation on August 24! There will be one session from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. and another from 6:00-8:00 p.m., both held in the Charles W. Loosemore Auditorium. A resource fair will be provided between the two sessions from 5:00-6:00 p.m. A virtual New Graduate Student Orientation will be held on August 25 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. via Zoom. A link will be provided closer to the orientation date. Students can register for their preferred session online.

  6. GVSU alum from the Master of Science in Biology, Jasmine Mancuso, received the Elsevier Early Career Scientist Award for the 2021 Most Notable Paper in the Journal of Great Lakes Research! Awesome job, Jasmine!

August 16, 2022: GVSU internal deadline for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program applications
August 20-24, 2022: PEEPS events during the New GVSU International Student Orientation
August 24, 2022: New Graduate Student Orientation - 1st session from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. and 2nd session from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Charles W. Loosemore Auditorium
August 25, 2022: Virtual New Graduate Student Orientation from 3:00-5:00 p.m. 

September 20, 2022: Deadline application for the Schwarzman Scholars Program
September 22, 2022:
