From the Ranch House

New Club Software Coming Soon!
The Ranch House staff has been working behind the scenes on a very exciting project for several weeks now. We are happy to announce the launch of new club management software, Club Automation, on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
Club Automation will manage all Ranch House programming, including fitness, tennis, lap lanes, and even social events! Our new software is user friendly, streamlined and equipped with a multifaceted communication center we know you will love. Club Automation also comes with a mobile app and features an online member portal that will give our members a more interactive and customized experience.
It's our goal to make the transition to Club Automation as seamless as possible. We will host tutorial sessions at the Ranch House the week we go live. A Club Automation representative or RVR staff member will be available to assist and answer any questions. We will also provide a how-to guide on creating new log in credentials, club reservations, and updating payment information. Your HOA payment methods will remain in place.
Please look for more information on these tutorial sessions in upcoming newsletters.
Furry Friend of The Week
Hi hoomans! My name is Bernie, and I am the flooffiest of golden retrievers. My mom is Ali, who works at the Ranch House. I am 4 years old, but sometimes act like an old man and refuse to walk. I love balls, carrying around my stuffy, and laying in the snow. My most favorite thing is to be with all the hoomans: I will even sit on a sled like a good boy so they don’t leave me behind! I’ve heard I’m not the most athletic doggo and sometimes I make my mom giggle when I trip up the stairs or slide down the driveway. I am the goodest boy: I snuggle with your shoes and don’t eat them, I love all the people and animals, and I clean up after any snacks that are dropped on the ground! If you have any extra chicken or love, I’m your guy!

Reminders & Highlights

Green Tip
Are you interested in RVR becoming a more sustainable, healthier, and environmentally conscious neighborhood? So are we! In our era of climate change, drought, wildfires, and emission reduction goals, we all have great ideas on ways to improve our community. We will highlight a green tip of the week periodically in the newsletter to help bring this topic to the forefront.
Please enjoy the following eco-friendly tidbit:
Did you know that Carbondale's Building Codes have lighting requirements that are designed to preserve the dark night sky? Residential outdoor lights are restricted in brightness and must be pointed down with a limited light arc. This allows us to all enjoy the incredible stars and beauty of the night.
This post was brought to you by Friends of the Environment, a group of like-minded RVR residents who love the environment. If you would like to join their list, email courtney.eaton@icloud.com.
Ranch House Closure
The Ranch House will be closed on Monday, Feb. 7 through Sunday, Feb. 13. This closure will allow for necessary repairs and maintenance. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this closure.
Locker Maintenance
During the Ranch House closure we will be re-staining all lockers. We ask that members please remove all personal items from lockers before Saturday, Feb. 5.
Please see the front desk if you currently have a locker rental.
What Goes Up Must Come Down...
It's almost time to take down the festive holiday decorations! Per the RVR Holiday Lighting policy, "Lighting may be on until January 31. Holiday yard ornaments/decorations, visible holiday lights, and house icicle lights must be off and removed by January 31. Outdoor tree lights must be turned off after January 31, but homeowners have until March 1 to remove tree lights."

I love adventure. I enjoy the act of relaxing into long mountain bike rides, meandering trail runs, my yoga practice and my everyday life. There is a shift that happens when we settle into our own rhythm, commit to our journey and allow our destination to unfold before us.
This was not always my way. I grew up identifying myself an athlete. Be it tennis, golf, soccer, triathlons end even yoga; I was determined to achieve my goal and that usually meant muscling through whatever I had set my mind to accomplish. In my attempt to qualify for Boston, I got injured and went through the motions of physical therapy. I went through the exercises but not intently enough to enhance my performance. Years later, I had the opportunity to work with an adept fitness trainer that helped me become more nimble, fit and flexible. This sparked my interest in learning how to help people know their body better.
I left Vermont and landed in Carbondale in 2011, equipped with a keen eye for analyzing and detecting imbalances in runners' gait patterns and a strong desire to help athletes live happier healthier lives. I immersed myself in a Hatha-based Yoga Teacher Training that taught me a methodical and refined way of activating muscles I didn’t know I had. My time working as a physical therapy aide put me on the front lines of helping folks recover from foot, knee, back, neck, and shoulder injuries. This experience helped me understand the local muscle system, the muscles that stabilize our joints so the prime movers can move with ease.
Now, I am a movement educator. I have developed an intimate relationship with the body and mind, and I have a clearer understanding of how our anatomical structure is designed to effortlessly move through space. I am adept at facilitating movement behavior that allows you to receive, refine and integrate movement patterns that are innate, yet dormant, in your being.

My goal is to help you feel better in your body by teaching you why, how and what you need to engage or lengthen to be more balanced in how you move. My approach is collaborative, exploratory and thoughtful. It is important to me that you are aligned before you load any movement pattern. I would love to help you get back to doing the activities you enjoy with a refined sense of self-awareness, inner strength and ease.

Emily teaches Gentle Slow Flow Yoga on Wednesdays at the Ranch House. Check back next week to learn more about one of your favorite instructors!
