As we move into June, we're reminded that strength is built one day at a time. At the YMCA of Metro Denver, every workout, every new friendship, every lesson learned and every moment of community helps us grow stronger together. Whether you're focusing on your wellness goals, finding new opportunities for your family or simply staying connected, the Y is here to support you every step of the way. Thank you for being part of our community and choosing to grow stronger with us every day.
Here's what's happening this month at the Y ⬇️

Moments From Around the Y 💫 |
|
|
|
From celebrating Y Academy graduates to welcoming community members back to the newly renovated Southwest Family YMCA, it's been an exciting few weeks across the YMCA of Metro Denver. We also came together for Community Swim Lessons to help build water safety skills and kicked off Summer Camp staff training as we prepare for an unforgettable season ahead. Thank you for being part of the moments that continue to make our Y community stronger every day.

Join us: Women of the Y Luncheon, June 4 🌸 | Connection, networking and an inspiring keynote speaker — a Colorado native and high-achieving athlete and coach. A light lunch will be served.
We'll come together to recognize the power of women supporting women — and how it all begins with girls who are empowered to play, grow, lead and rise into strong, confident women who uplift our communities in so many ways. Together, we'll celebrate how YMCA Youth Sports spark that journey for so many girls.

Water Safety Doesn't Just Happen. It Takes Action. 💦 |
Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for children ages 5 – 14, according to the CDC. But education and awareness can help prevent these tragedies, which is why the YMCA of Metro Denver hosted "Safety Around Water: A Community Swim Lesson" at the Aurora YMCA in May for Water Safety Month. For many kids in our community, learning to swim simply doesn't happen without someone stepping in to make it possible — so the Y partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver to offer free spots for children to learn essential water safety skills and build confidence in and around water.

Celebrating Founder's Day — June 6, 2026 🎂 |
|
|
|
For 182 years, a simple idea has grown into a global movement dedicated to strengthening communities and helping people thrive. The YMCA has long been a place where people of all ages find connection, support and a sense of belonging. As we celebrate the Y's 175th anniversary in the United States through the No Place Like This Place campaign, we invite you to watch this special video exploring what strength means at the Y. From children gaining confidence in swim lessons to families finding support, teens discovering purpose and older adults building lasting friendships, the Y is more than a place for programs and services. It is a community where people grow stronger together. From 1844 to today and beyond, there's truly no place like this place.

Strengthening Our Commitment to Safety |
At the YMCA of Metro Denver, creating safe, welcoming spaces for everyone is at the heart of what we do. As part of that commitment, we are pursuing accreditation through Praesidium, a national leader in abuse prevention that helps organizations strengthen policies, practices and training designed to protect children and vulnerable individuals.
This accreditation process includes a comprehensive review of our safety standards and procedures to ensure we continue providing the highest level of care for the communities we serve. While safety has always been a top priority at the Y, this work reflects our ongoing dedication to continuous improvement and creating environments where all members, participants and families can feel confident and supported.

🇺🇸 Independence Day Holiday Hours |
All YMCA of Metro Denver branches will be open 7 AM – 3 PM on Saturday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
