Local media recently highlighted the growth and success of our Citizenship program in both print and televised news. July Fourth Naturalization at Monticello

We were honored to watch ten of our current and former students become U.S. Citizens at the 2022 Independence Day Celebration & Naturalization Ceremony at Monticello.

The Link, Where We All Belong

The Link is a space for LVCA students and tutors to connect through fun activities and to connect to the greater Charlottesville Community. All are invited to join our upcoming events.

Salsa Dancing Classes
When: Saturdays, July 9, 16, and 23
Time: 4:00 p.m
Where: Jefferson School City Center's courtyard
On Saturdays in July, there will be free Salsa dancing classes in the courtyard! The inner courtyard is across from LVCA's first-floor classroom.
Blanca, a Literacy Volunteer student from Colombia, will teach new steps each week.
Guided Tree Walk at the Botanical Garden of the Piedmont
When: Tuesday, July 12
Time: 10:00 a.m. 
Where: The Botanical Garden of the Piedmont, 950 Melbourne Rd.
Join students and tutors on a guided tour of the Botanical Garden of the Piedmont. We will learn about trees and their leaves, bark, flowers, and fruit.
